Important Locations:

The conference will be held in the computer science building (G29), which is located on the university campus at the street corner Walther-Rathenau-/ Gustav-Adolf-Str. The registration office is in room 301 which can be reached under Tel. +49 391 67 18183. Lectures take place in room 307. Some of the social events are celebrated in the Hotel Ratswaage. This hotel is in walking distance from the computer science building located Hotel Ratswaage, Ratswaageplatz 1-4, Magdeburg (see map of Magdeburg). The public Otto-von-Guericke Lecture by Lotfi Zadeh will take place in Lecture Hall H3 in Building 50 in Große Steinernetischstr.6, Magdeburg

FSCS 2006 takes place at the Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg, one of the youngest universities in Germany. It was founded in 1993 combining the Technical University, the School of Medicine and the Teacher Training College. The Otto-von-Guericke-University, with 12,000 registered students, sees itself as a location for interdisciplinary teaching and practically oriented research.

The conference is organized by members of the Faculties of Mechanical Enginnering and Computer Science. The Faculty of Computer Science. The faculty, has more than 1000 students and is one of the biggest faculties of the university. The faculty offers Diploma as well as Masters courses, among others, in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Computational Visualistics and Data and Knowledge Engineering. Another highlight is the "SAP University Competence Centre" which provides trainings and hosts SAP Software for more than 45 german universities.

Ada-Lovelace-Building from Walther-Rathenau-Strasse

 

Since September 2002 the faculty is located in a newly remodelled building (building 29), which bears the name of Ada Lovelace, often considered to be the world's first computer programmer.
